What VMF Investments does

Mutual fund distribution

  • Risk profiling. Tolerance, capacity and need assessed separately, then reconciled — never how you feel about risk alone.
  • Goal-based fund selection. Fund-specific recommendations matched to your goal, time horizon and risk category.
  • SIP, SWP and STP guidance. Starting an investment, drawing an income from it, or moving money into equity in stages.

Your money goes to the fund house, and your units are recorded by a SEBI-registered registrar or depository, never held by us.

Insurance distribution

Cover that protects your family. Edwin is a certified insurance distributor.

  • Term life insurance. Pure protection: if something happens to you during the policy term, your family receives the sum assured.
  • Health insurance. Cover for hospital bills for you and your family, so a medical emergency doesn’t eat into your savings.

We help you work out how much cover makes sense, and choose a plan that fits.

We are a mutual fund distributor, not a SEBI-registered investment adviser. Any guidance we share is incidental to the mutual fund schemes we distribute, which is how every distributor works (AMFI explains the role of a distributor (a PDF on AMFI’s website, opens in a new tab)). For advice on your whole financial picture, SEBI-registered investment advisers offer that for a separate fee.

Six steps, at a pace that suits you

We start small, review together, and build the relationship over time.

  1. Step 1: Discover

We start with the goal. The goal decides the time horizon, and the time horizon decides everything else.

  2. Step 2: Assess

Risk tolerance, risk capacity and risk need — three separate angles, combined into one considered risk category.

  3. Step 3: Select & Recommend

We shortlist suitable funds and check each one against your goal and risk profile.

  4. Step 4: Simulate & Present

We walk through what to expect, including the rough patches, before any money moves.

  5. Step 5: Start Small

Begin with an amount that feels comfortable. No minimum pressure, and you can always add more later.

  6. Step 6: Grow Together

Your money is invested by the fund house’s managers. We review it with you, so no decision is made on impulse.

Our approach to your investments

Two things we do for every client, whatever the amount.

Guidance, before and after you invest

  • We begin with your risk profile, so we understand how much risk you are willing and able to take.

  • Our suggestions are based on your goals, your needs and when you will need the money.

  • You invest only what you choose, with no pressure at any stage, and we review your investments with you over time.

Due diligence before we recommend

  • Before we recommend a fund, we review its scheme documents and latest factsheet.

  • We examine what it holds, what it sets out to do and the experience of its fund manager.

  • We then help you choose the funds that suit your risk profile and your goals.

We’re paid the way every AMFI-registered distributor is paid. The fund house pays us a small yearly commission, usually about 0.5 to 1% of what you have invested, out of the fund’s own yearly costs. The fund house sets that rate, not us, and it stops the moment you exit.

Investing from abroad

Same-day KYC is common for India-based investors; NRI onboarding typically takes 2–5 business days via CVL KRA, then about a day to activate your account.

Your money never sits with us

It’s invested directly with the fund house. Your units are independently recorded by a SEBI-registered registrar or depository, and you get your own login to see your holdings anytime. Our role is to recommend and guide.

Built around NRI realities

NRE vs NRO, FATCA/CRS, overseas income and job-contract risk all affect which funds suit you. Risk is assessed on your tolerance and what you can actually afford to risk, not just how you feel about it.
